Employment Supports

Employment supports are any kind of service, including information, that help individuals prepare for, obtain, or maintain work.  This section is designed to help individuals participating in the SSDI Benefit Offset Pilot Project in Connecticut, Vermont, Utah and Wisconsin find additional information about local, state, and federal programs that can support them in preparing for, finding, and maintaining employment.  The links below provide access to a variety of resources and information on employment supports for individuals receiving SSDI.

General Resources

Social Security
The main Social Security website that discusses how work can impact someone who receives disability benefits.
Medicare
If you have received SSDI benefits for at least 24 months you are eligible for Medicare. There are many different Medicare programs that you may qualify for that can help you maintain health care coverage even if you are working. Visit www.medicare.gov for detailed information on each of these programs or call toll free 1-800-633-4227 (TTY users call 1-877-486-2048).
